We used to have one, Jacarepaguá. After Formula One left Rio and went to Sao Paulo, it only got worse and worse, and only minor series would race there. The place just looked abandoned. So, back in 2006, when we hosted the panamerican games, they demolished half of it to build a swimming complex, promising they would build a new modern Racing track here somewhere else and then apply to have Formula One back. Its quite far from the city centre, but still, Interlagos is also VERY far away in terms of how long it takes you to get there because of traffic.
i THINK its somewhere around here I can be wrong though, i havent been around that place ever before. All i kow is thats far from the city centre, maybe 1.30h?
Yeah, I was thinking that, it's basically on the outskirts of the city. If they do it there, they will have to invest heavily on infrastructure to make sure people can get there easily enough, that's for sure.
Sebastian Vettel - Triple World Drivers Champion '10 '11 '12 Red Bull Racing - Triple World Constructors Champion '10 '11 '12
Something I got from Sky Sports website, pretty much resuming the situation...
"Sebastian Vettel will win the title if... * He finishes in fourth place or higher even if Alonso wins. * He finishes seventh or higher if Alonso is second or lower. * He finishes ninth or higher if Alonso is third or lower. * Alonso doesn't finish on the podium.
Fernando Alonso will win the title if... * He wins and Vettel is fifth or lower. * He finishes second and Vettel is eighth or lower. * He finishes on the podium and Vettel is tenth or lower.
Were the drivers to finish with the same number of points, Vettel would win the title having won more races."
God, can you imagine finishing with the same number of points? If that doesn't give someone a stroke, idk what would...
Bricking myself. He should do it but the way things have fallen for Alonso, you do fear some mechanical gremlin or a freak race and a freak result. Forza Seb
At Interlagos, he won it 3 times! 14/11/10 9/10/11 25/11/12
